Does anyone know Rutherglen?

Travel Info
Is it a nice place to live?

Travel Tips
I know Rutherglen, and have to mirror the first answer really, its a few miles from me and so i know it pretty well. Its not somewhere i would choose to live. In fact its somewhere i choose not to go at all unless its an absoloute necessity, there are better places, very close by tho, within a mile or two, Burnside would be my choice, 1-2miles away at most and easy to travel to rutherglen if you are employed there. 1 stop on the train, 5 mins on a bus, ditto to drive there and there is a free car park. hope this helps

In a word, NO!

It鈥檚 a pretty rough area to be honest, definitely not somewhere I would chose to live.

The South Side of Glasgow has a lot of really nice areas but Rutherglen is not one of them.
Its not that great - I used to work there. Burnside and Kings Park are nicer and only 5-10 mins away. Depends on what kind of place you want to live in.
Its like everywhere else it has good bits and bad bits, it depends what you like. Lots of council areas and lots of private developments. To buy property a 2 bed flat can start from 50thousand pounds. I wouldn't want to stay there.
