What is this underground tunnel?

Travel Info
This is a question for Scottsh railway buffs or regular commuters from Glasgow Central Low Level Station. As you are pulling out of Glasgow Central, going towards Balloch/Dalmuir, if you sit facing backwards on the train you can see lights in the tunnel to the left of the station. I have been told that these are disused platforms for Glasgow Central Low level. Can anyone confirm this and if it is indeed another platform, where does that line go?

Travel Tips
I dont personaly know the answer but I am now interested in finding out as I know the tunnels you are talking about.

Click the link below and ask the question in the "Rail and Subway" thread. Its a 20 page thread just dedicated to the rail and subway lines in Glasgow.

On Thursday it was announced that there will be an expansion of the Glasgow subway, with new tunnels and using old disused tunnels, perhaps this is one of the disused tunnels.
