All the SNP promises are based on oil revenue and if we go fully independent then the oil will have to be defended. Having said that it costs over 20 million for a fishery protection vessel The Glasgow shipyards have been in decline for many years now. The SNP taking over the reins of power should make little or no difference to them as far as I can see. The shipyards in Glasgow , I'm afraid, don't have much of a life left now. Even just a decade ago you would have found a high percentage of people living in the area around these yard working in them, but now there are hardly any(yard/workers!). |
