Travel Info Hahaha,anyone remember bonkers in glasgow??? Travel Tips haahaaa yeah it was a scary place....loved the metal detector at the door all the guys had to walk through!! I used to go there with my friend when we were 16/17, and never getting turned away for being underage, on the rare occasions they asked for ID we would just walk away go round the corner change jackets, glasses, put our hair up just to look a tiny bit different and walk straight in 5 minutes after we were knocked back....haahaaa!! remember the stage with the poles anyone could get up on and dance?? my friend was up tere one night with some fake leather (they were rather plastic looking....classy!!) trousers on and was dancing round the pole and her trousers ripped right in front of the whole bar....was the funniest thing i have ever seen!! aaah memories!! Omigod... you have just reminded me of when I worked in Bonkers in Edinburgh...It was Bonkers all right! I used to think I was on the 'Hitman and Her'! do you remember that? I remember the one in Aberdeen and when visiting Glasgow thought "oh I wonder if it's as good".... Oh boy was I wrong. There was a knife amnesty on at the time and the bucket outside was overflowing with hunting knives. Made me feel really safe - not! I remember thinking - oh it's really pretty, it's got fishtanks in with real fish in!!! Then I had a couple of drinks and left - never to return to Glasgow again. course i do,oh to be young and free again! spending taxi fare home and having to walk for miles! not getting in and having to go round to heilimans and swap clothes!oh those were the days sami!!lolol |
