Travel Info We all know now that Greece will never unify with South Cyprus, and that North Cyprus will never become a Turkey department... Travel Tips Absolutely, yes... People, especially the ones with same or similar tradition and customs like Turks and Greeks can live together as they have for centuries... Unfortunatly the Great Powers devide people just for their own financial interests, creating suspision and conflicts. Ok, there can be fanatics brom both sides, but they can be easily isolated if they do not have the support of the ones who want people separated and fighting. Give you an example (not very pleasant to the fanatics of each side): Greeks and Turks lived in Asia Minor (Ex Othman Empire) together in peace for centuries. When British Petrolium decided to stretch its hand over the Mossul oil sourses, they gave Venizelos the order to conquer Turkey, despite the opposition of the Greek King and the Communist party... And this is the sourse of the problems between the two countries... No Giwrgos or Giannis did have any problems with Moustafa or Ali, either they lived in Greece or in Turkey.... These are the games of the powerful ones, and people must react to them.... Yes, Cypriots, either of turkish or of greek origin can live together and vote for their own government and decide for their State's future together, keeping away U.S.A., England, even Turkey and Greece.... Cyprous was and must always be an independent State... Others The South needs to lose that grumpy guy, Papadopulos first. The guy knows no other word than "Ohi!" If unified it will resemble like Ogre's land. Try living in Cyprus first and then formulate an opinion. Things aren't as easy as they might seem. Personally, I don't see that happening. This will happen only when Turks and Greeks learn to live together. I don't think that this is going to happen. Cyprus is a big political problem between Turkey and Greece for years. As I saw, more than 80% of people living in entire Cyprus wants to have a 1 government, but people of Turkey and Greece don't want that. This is the funniest point. We just let the people to live as they were living before.I am greek, but if you ask greek or turk cypriots, they will tell you the same thing.They want to live all together as before. Unfortunately, this doesnt depend on Greece or Turkey.It depends on others...Ohters decide for the future of all countries. So whatever we say or propose, be sure it is not going to be heard... Yes, I think it's probably the best solution for both sides... |
