When is the best time and safe place to trave in Greece? |
Travel Info I was thinking to go there with some group of fiends of mine. I like to do with wise budget and spend there for 10 days. Any suggestions that we need to be known ahead of time. Travel Tips Greece is always safe.W e never had bad events which could be influence tourism.You can come anytime, but august is the worst season, the prices are high, and everything is booked... try the islands..and especially Rhodes... Others It's always safe. As for good time, June and September are quieter and cheaper. July and mostly August are more crowded and warmer. It's your pick. As for a good place to visit, I'd suggest 3 days in Athens and then go to Paros or Siphnos. best time to go is from april till october. in august you have a lot of activities in Greece. it's a pretty save country. Any time, any place, Greece is safe always... Try Rodos island which has been the crossroad of many different cultures and simultaneouly it's a beautiful island... Go in the summer months-June,July August and September,it the season then and it's hot and sunny.It's a safe place and it has a lot you can see and have fun! =)) Greece is one of the safest countries in Europe (low crime, peaceful people). Best time May-June and September-October. Greece can be affordable and yet very expensive depending on your taste. On a low budget, count ~ 15-20 euros for accommodation and about the same for food per day. Once you settle down in a place, you may manage with less. I have never felt threatened in any way in Greece...never. Walking alone or with a group. As for cost, I have found that you can find expensive or less so like you do in the states you just have to shop like any where else. I do know that more smaller shops are closed in August for they all close for holidays then to go to beaches etc. (makes parking easier though) This is in Athens anyway. The stores were open up north in the resort areas though. Flying there in July/Aug is more expensive. I paid 400 usd more on tickets this year than I paid the last 2 years to go and I arrive July 1st. I had booked couple months at least early too but the cheaper flights on same flights were already booked by then. You didn't mention what country you were flying out of or perhaps if driving.
