No one seems to be able to answer. What stuff do I need to do to prepare my hampster to fly from Greece to Us? |
Travel Info I have a hampster and I would like to fly with her from Crete, Greece to Seatle. I'm not sure what papers I need -if she needs to see a vet. I'm also not sure if they closest vet to me examines hampsters. I was given this link; http://www.cbp.gov/imagecache/cgov/conte... but it doesn't really specify what I should do for my hampster. She's a dworf hampster... Travel Tips 1. you go to a vet 2. she/he will do all the shots 3. make passport for the hamster 4. the vet will type in the shots and sign it 5. go to the airport 6. show the passport and weigh the animal 7. pay the fee (depends on the weight) 8. now...travel and don't make a big fuss about it! Relax...its easy. Others She needs to be up to date in her shots and have the vet give some paper saying that shes ok to fly. I personally wouldn麓t bring a hamster on a plane, I wanted to bring a cat but I didn麓t because I heard the plane might scare him so much that he dies or something like that. I wouldn麓t want to think about a hamster, they are so little. You can always ask your airline what their rules and regulations are though too. But like I said, I wouldn麓t bring such a small animal on a plane. You would better ask the air company. They know better. Oh, I am thinking how to do the same! Well, my cousin brought her hamster in her handbag from Switzerland. It isn't as mean as it sounds. I really love my hamster and wouldn't do anything to harm him. As far as I know she put it to sleep with Chamomile tea - lots of it! Believe me it makes the hamster sleepy. Definitely take it to the vet and have it checked. Get the vet to write you an inform that says it is completely healthy. For an animal who is so little and fragile, I wouldn't trust anybody to put it in a cage and throw him into the plane. I would make a bed of cloth in my handbag and put it there. Good luck! Just ask the competent local veterinary authorities. There are laws and ministerial decisions about animals travelling abroad, but every local authority interpretates the law the way it wishes to. Therefore, are the airport authorities will just ask the local authorities, get in touch with the latest... |
