A relative of mine has died while on holiday in greece (heart attack)but she never had any travel insurance? |
Travel Info at the moment to get her back to england the cost is over 15,0000 this amount included hospital fees does anyone no where we can go to get help we need my auntie home our family have all put money in to raise enough but we dont have any wear near that amount this only happened yesterday we are all devasted and we just dont no what to do or who to turn to any imformation would be greatly appreciated thanks Travel Tips The only cheapest way my dear is to have her creamated in Greece which should be a heck of a lot cheaper than USA or UK. Whatever family members on holiday with her will attend her creamation in Greece. Then bring her ashes back to USA wherever u live, and then all family and friends can attend a local ceremony at a local church, then either keep her ashes or have them either buried or scattered wherever she may have wanted. To bring the body back would be a hell of a job and expense. I do know how you feel God bless and I hope all turns out ok Jimmy Essex England UK DisablekI scottish Gentleman LOL xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx PS.. Whatever U do , try and make your mind up quickly, because the longer you think about it, the longer she lays in the mortuary and the longer her body stays there, the more the bill goes up. Others Im so sorry for your loss, contact the CAB they will be able to help more than here. Would they consider a local cremation or burrial? I'm sorry for your loss. Please contact the American Embassy. They hopefully will guide you in the right direction regarding her transport home. PS ...From the sounds of it you're in the UK....contact your Embassy, I hope all goes well for you and yours. cant you go to the Embassy they could possibly help you. Greece is part of the EU - did she not fill out the forms before leaving regarding medical treatment within the EU - all member states agreed the policy of offering medical treatment to other EU citizens See here http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/policyandguidanc... SHe should have had this form EHIC = European Health Insurance Card Speak to the British Embassy - they will help you as much as possible and will have dealt with this before. Sorry for your loss. |
