How many different kinds of mineral water do you really have in Greece? |
Travel Info No, really, every time I go to a supermarket, I can see yet another new one! The same goes for chewing gums - I counted over 80 at one kiosk alone in Rhodes! Amazing! Why so many? Travel Tips Hello dear! Due to Greece's geography there are many springs, but of smaller comparable sizes. Thus the many different Spring Waters! Not everything in Greece has been bought by multinational companies, thus there are many kinds of almost everything, even like gums! Also, I think the best gums are the original masticha, produced in Chios! Even after chewing it I swallow it, it is a great herb! Others Greece is a mountainous country with several springs. Several small-size companies exist that exploit these reserves ending up into multiple brands... For chewing gums, it is because Greeks likely import any brand that exists out there...but whether Greeks need all these different brands...oh well...who knows.. On the other hand are you sure these were all chewing gums...80? sounds a lot... don't you think? As a Greek man i would say that we are a people that enjoy choices! And with the amount of tourists that Greece receives it is wise to have brands that are familiar to the visitors. And since Greece is part of the Common Market they can trade with less restrictions. But i strongly recommend that when you visit the main land towns you drink the water that comes from the running taps. The water is cold, clean and comes from melting snow from the mountains and is the best and healthiest water you will ever drink. As for the chewing gums it's much better than smoking and combats halitosis. As for you having the time to count 80 at a kiosk, umm, go sight see! Personal and marketing perspective. |
