Corfu is like 2 worlds!

The south of the Island (Kavos) is a party mad town... every nite is like a Fri/Sat nite and every day is like a Sunday.

The North (Kassiopi, Roda) is family friendly, relaxing, beautiful scenery/historic parts and relaxing.

The beaches at Paleokastritsa are beautiful and well worth a visit.

Central island (Benitses, Sinarades) are predominately German/Northern European resorts so dont have knowledge of them.

Lefkimi in the south is an inbred town... travel through but DONT stop!! Source(s): Worked on the island for 6 months

its a wonderful place...the people, food & weather are all great. if you are young..you'll like Kavos, the club land. its a brilliant island..and has something for everybody - you'll love it!!
I went to Kavos on my holiday a few years back - great if you're into clubbing and drinking. But the beach is RANK. Its dirty and littered and horrible - the only thing good about it is the Sexy Doughnut Man selling his Sexy doughnuts!

mate of mine came back recently,corfu for nightlife but my mate found a small cove nearby with a fawlty towers type hotel, best craic ever he said.
I think that Paul has said it all, and from residential experience.
I've had holidays on several of the islands (not keen on new Athens, but the old architecture is beautiful if you get a chance to visit - and the statue of Poseidon in the Museum is breathtaking - it was worth going just to see that).
First island was Evia (Euboea) before it had any real development - the people were so lovely and the weather marvellous for May Day which they really celebrated as a Festival Holiday, not like our miserable nearest to it Monday.
Not so keen on Santorini - that black sand got everywhere!
Loved Ios and Aegina.
In fact - you will have a great holiday I'm sure. Don't forget the sun lotion it can get very hot, and give the beach loos a wide berth!!
I went there last year & we stayed at Aghios Gordios which was FAB! There are some really nice Tavernas which are on the beach & you can watch the sunset every night.

It's not a place for those with walking problems though!
