The Mayan Riviera which is about 10 to 60 miles south of Cancun. Cancun's sand is not as nice as it used to be before last year's hurricane; too shelly. The Pacific side isn't as nice as the Caribbean; the sand is tan & brown compared to the other side which is white plus the water is turquoise & light blue there whereas the Pacific is green unless you go down to Huatulco, south of Alcapulco. You have 4-5 times the visibilty in Cancun and the Mayan Riviera. Cozumel has some nice beaches and water, but not as many or as long, but is better for diving cause the water is clearer. |
