Thinking of going to Guadalajara MX, Train or Bus? |
Travel Info Im thinking of going to Guadalajara Mexico, but don't want to spend the money on a airplaine ticket. Could anybody tell me how much a bus or train ticket would coust. And also give me the train or bus companies website. I would really like the website please. Thank you. P.S. If for some reason you know how to get plane tickets cheap throw that in you answer. Travel Tips I don't know where you are leaving from but the bus takes approximately 12-15 hours from Brownsville/McAllen, TX and can take as long as 24 hours from El Paso...even long from TJ. Mexico buses are no uncomfortable in general, there are many nice bus lines, but the trip takes a long time. The good thing is that most of the trip is usually at night. Make sure you spend a little extra to get an executive class bus where the seats are larger and recline like first class airline seats. The names of the bus companies changes depending on what part of the country you are leaving from. The most comfortable is ETN and costs less than $100 one way from the southeast TX border to GDL. Don't go to Mexico City and then transfer as that will take at least 19 hours plus the time you have to wait in Mexico City. There is no longer any passenger train service in Mexico except for a tourist train through the Copper Canyon. Sometimes you can get an air only flight to Puerto Vallarta through a charter company and then you can take the bus to GDL (about 4-5 hours). |
