Is there a bus from Guadalajara to Lake Chapala?

I'm planning on taking a bus from Leon to Guadalajara, Mexico, in November. Is there a bus from Guadalajara to Lake Chapala? Any idea of cost, how long a ride, safety, etc.? I will probably be traveling alone. I think there are good, safe buses from Leon to Guadalajara that run frequently. Do I need to get a reservation ahead of time?

Travel Tips

When you arrive in GDL from Leon you will arrive at the Centro de Autobuses and the buses to Chapala leave from the downtown bus station so you will have to change bus stations. The buses leave frequently, are safe and take about an hour. I don't think it is possible to make reservations to Chapala but you can make them from Leon to GDL if you want but it is usually not necessary. Try to take ETN from Leon to GDL, it is much more comfortable and only slightly more expensive. It is about three hours from Leon to GDL.
