I would say that 95% of the land is rural but 85% of the people live in the city. A lot of people live in the Capital, or live in Antigua. Probably the majority live in the shadow of one of these two cities. That said, the rural is rural! It's not like a county road in Arkansas. The country folk are poor (think earth floors, water well in backyard, tortillas and beans everyday)! A lot of urban population is poor as well. Middle class is tiniest percentage of population - it's mostly Haves or Have Nots. |
