Guatemala is a great country. It was a center and crossroad os the Mayan civilization and has amazing pre-Columbia ruins. It has a rich colonial history, with lovely cities like Antigua. It has pristine rain forests filled with amazing tropical birds and animals. The colorful culture of the indigenous people makes for wonderful markets, crafts and local festivals. The food is tasty, they make amazing rum and, yes , the coffee is world class.
