Going to Santo Tomas de Castilla....?

How do you get from Guatemala City to Santo Tomas without renting a car? I heard public transportation was horrible.

I haven't tried to get to Guat City from Santo Tomas de Castilla before, but whatever you do, DO NOT use public transportation. It is extremely dangerous. Most people will ride with no problems, but you drastically increase your chances of getting robbed or in an accident with these buses.

I don't have an answer, but you are going to Puerto Barrios? We are going to Casa Guatemala, the orphanage, this summer to pick up our 2 girls we are adopting. We are waiting to hear from PGN & get our 'pink slips'.
there are 3 kind of buses of Litegua A B C

A - cheap but not to comfortable
B - big buses, with tv, air condition
C - special service buses - first class - 2 floors - service aboard

You should use the SPECIAL SERVICE - FIRST CLASS they are comfortable and with good service
