Halifax is a nice city. There are lots of parks, like the Commons or Point Pleasant, where you can take your daughters. It is not a big city, about 300 000 people. If you want to go shopping, go to the the Halifax Shopping Center. There is a children's hospital there and the schools are good, as far as I know.
