Do doctors ever prescribe meds for people who are afraid to fly? |
Travel Info To help them relax on the plane? If not, what do people usually do to calm themselves before flying? I suffer from anxiety disorder which causes extreme panic attacks. I've never flown before but I know I'd freak out. I'd like to go on a nice vacation somewhere like the Bahamas and I feel like I'm missing out because of my fear of flying. Travel Tips As a travel agent and frequent traveler, I recommend against medication for relief of flying anxiety except as a last resort. Instead invest in a good set of noise cancelling headphones and an iPod and or a portable DVD plyer. Close your eyes and all you can hear are you favorite tunes, maybe something that will help you sleep, but definitely music that makes you feel happy. Good movies on DVD will distract you too and make the time pass more quickly. If you must have mosre try an over the counter medication like Tylenol PM or Ambien before attempting to get a physician to prescriibe a potentially habit forming narcotic. Others Volum, Vicodin, Alcohol.................not in that order and not all together................ Or a sleeping pill............... No worries tho its not as bad as you may think........... :) |
