Why does the captain turn off the lights inside the aeroplane, when its coming in to land or taking off?

Travel Tips
The lights are made dim so that passengers鈥?eyes get accustomed to the darkness in case there is an emergency on takeoffs and landing. The exit signs and placards which are illuminated are seen better with cabin lights off.

He doesn't the stewardess does.
he blows it out........
Maybe it's so everyone on board can see all the lights in the city as they approach... it can look nice at times.
so that the control tower dosn't see how sh*t scared they are
To reduce electricity usage coz landing and take off require the most power...
It's so that, if something does go wrong during takeoff or landing - which is when the majority of plane crashes occur - it will take less time for your eyes to adjust to the darkness and increase the chances of you escaping.
