How soon can a newborn travel?

I litterally want to leave from the hospital to the airport. Is that safe for the baby? The flight will only be about 30 min (orange county to sacramento).

Or should we drive? That will take about 8 hours, but at least the air pressure won't change; which is why I was told not to fly (by my grandmother).

i would talk to your doctor first and he/she would be the best person because they will know how you and your baby are doing. I took my son on a flight from Sacramento to Kansas City and we had a layover in Phoenix. He was almost 5 months old at the time. I had a diaper bag with formula and water ready to go and I had a pacifire. He acctually slept the whole way there and back. He was kinda fussy in the airport but when we got on the plane he drank on the way up and fell back asleep. Good luck and God Bless you all.

do not take an airplane wait until their atleast 1 year old. The best thing to do. I never went on a plane till that age. Drive may take longer but no risks to the baby. (unless there's a crash).
every airline is different find out who you will be flying with but normaly its 6weeks before baby can fly and some air lines wont untill 6months

My mother told me and Me for not listening the baby got sick.
If you have a healthy baby and you are very careful, you can probably travel with the baby at 3 months old.

I flew from the West Coast to the East Coast with a 2 months old baby, but we were prepared for every type of emergency (Baby B'Air special infant airplane vest, car seat, breast milk, formula, bottled water, purell, baby items, extra blankets/clothing, etc.)
