Is it true that the chances of surviving an air crash is higher if u are seaten behind the plane?

Travel Tips
no.. stastically the people most likely to surivive a plane crash are in the middle of the plane. Reason being there are the most emerngecy exits and planes tend to impact the ground by nose or tail ussualy.

The idea of people in the back being more likely to survive is kinda absurd.

It would be awful windy behind the plane and smelly too.

Yes, it's true that if you sit in the back of the plane your chance of survival is greater.
Yes, if you're seated behind the plane, it will take of without you. You'll be perfectly safe.
Really think that you need to re think your question and ask it again
BUT to answer this question as written yes you would but the exhaust from the jet engines would probable do you in 1st probably toasty extra crisp so you would know nothing of if the plane did crash
You meant , if you are seated in the rear part of the plane, I think. Yes, as per statistics, the safety is slightly higher ( considering many accidents occur on take off or landing ). Now just think, if you would also like toilet odour and passenger/aft galley disturbance too, during the flight......its a democracy , u decide.
Seated behind the WING... (not the plane) Is the safest place if you crash.

I think that is what he ment to say.
Possibly, but the other most important thing is to know where ALL emergency exits are before you take off. Count the rows to your closest exit so that if the cabin is filled with smoke, you can count seats by touch and know where to go.

And act. Don't sit there stunned and thinking about what happened and waiting for an announcement or for help - get up and go. In survivable crashes, more people are killed in the aftermath than in the actual crash - by smoke or fire.
