Has anyone been to Waimea Canyon on Kauaii in Hawaii?? |
Travel Info If so, please tell me what you think it would be like for a person with a major fear of heights. (like me) We're staying at Kokee State Park and we'll be driving up Waimea Canyon Road. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Travel Tips I just got back from spending two nights at one of the cabins in Koke'e State Park. You can still enjoy the views, just stay away from the edge! (Which I would recommend to anyone...) Hike into Alaka'i Swamp - you will see and hear so many birds!! If you have 4WD, you can make the Alaka'i Crossing trail without coming near a precipice. I hope you have warm clothes - the temperature dropped into the 40's the other night. Firewood is an additional $11 and does not include kindling. The cabins are rustic. Bring your own pillow! But the stove and refrigerator work well, the dishes and pans are adequate, the bedding is clean. Others The views are so magnificent and the lookouts have fences around them. Keep driving on that main road to Kalaulau Valley Lookout. We saw an owl on the way back from Waimea Valley. |
