Jet lag or jet leg whats the difference? |
Travel Info Hi I was having an argument with family about jet lag and jet leg there is a difference and yes they both exsist does anyone know the difference? I have checked on the net and found out but just want other people's opinions to see who else is aware? Travel Tips Jet lag is the disoriented feeling you get when you travel on a long flight to someplace that is in another time zone and you find yourself surrounded by people having breakfast which is a meal you had hours ago. It takes a while to get you body's internal clock reset to the new time (and then it's probably time to fly home). Jet leg is the leg problems caused by poor circulation that you experience when you are crammed into a small seat without being able to stretch your legs for such a long time that your circulation to the legs becomes stagnant. It has the possibility of blood clots that could travel to your lungs or heart or brain with deadly potential. Try getting up and walking or wiggling your toes or similar exercises to keep your circulation more active. Source(s): Flying to Australia from Northeast US is prime jet leg route. Going from US east coast to west is sufficient for jet lag. Other Travel Tips Just you me thinks!! never heard of jet leg jet lag is when your body clock goes out of sinc with the destination time when your on a plane. The body's natural pattern therefore becomes upset as the rhythms that dictate times for eating and sleeping no longer correspond to the environment of the destination. Do you mean the risk of getting DVT in the leg through flying. Not sure that is what you mean but it is the only thing I can think of A Private Jet Leg (also known as an Empty Leg) is simply a flight in a private jet that isn't carrying passengers. Usually, a private charter jet has dropped off passengers and is returning home to base "empty". ______________________________... Jet lag, also jetlag or jet-lag, is a physiological condition which is a consequence of alterations to the circadian rhythm. Such alterations result from shift work, daylight saving time, altered day length, or as the name implies, transmeridian travel as on a jet plane. They are known as desynchronosis, dysrhythmia, dyschrony, jet lag, or jet syndrome. The condition is generally believed to be the result of disruption of the "light/dark" cycle that entrains the body's circadian rhythm. It can be exacerbated by environmental factors. http://www.aviatorservices.com/emptyleg.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/jet_lag... |
