Can x-ray scanners at the airport affect prescription medications?

The last time I flew commercially, I requested that my meds be visibly inspected and not put through the x-ray scanner. I was told the scanner would not affect my meds. The pharmaceutical companies that manufacture my meds don't seem to know the answer!!!

No they sholdnt do tht
If you are most concern, you can pack your meds in your check in luggage and only carry a few that you may need to take during flight. I believe the meds are not affected by xray.
