Travel Info I was wondering if I should change all my money at the airport. Are their a lot of places to change from U.S currency to Peruvian? Thank you Travel Tips The national currency is the Nuevo sol (s/.) that is divided in one hundred cents. US dollars are accepted in most commercial establishments, although torn or damaged notes are usually rejected. All major credit cards are accepted such as Visa, Master Card, Diners and American Express. If you need to change dollars you can do this at the hotel or at authorized exchange facilities ("casas de cambio"). or exchanges offices. Do not exchange money out in the street. ATM machines are available at banks in addition to some shopping centers and gas stations in urban and tourist areas. Traveler鈥檚 checks are also typically accepted. Do not carry large amounts of cash. Yes, you will find money exchange, ATMs at the Airport. You should be particularly careful when arriving at Lima鈥檚 Jorge Chavez International Airport. You are advised to arrange taxis at the taxi counters inside the international arrival area (between immigration and baggage claim) or at the information kiosk next to the airport exit. |
