Jet lag - what do you do to help or prevent it? thanks!?

Travel Tips
Drink alot of water while travelling...

I`ve found that the best thing is to just try to follow the time of the place you are in. Even though you might be tired, try to stay awake till it`s time to go to bed.. and the other way around, if you`re not tired but it`s getting late, go to bed and try to sleep..

Don`t really have any tips for preventing it....

thank you for all your comments, will remember to use them.

Don't eat, drink, or sleep on the plane.
Ensure that you limit your intake of alcohol during the flight.
Opt instead for plain bottled water and drink lots at intervals of 1 hour at least.

When you reach your destination , have a good rest the first night
You should be okay thereafter.

The trick is to keep hydrated and this means limited alcoholic beverages.
Depending on which direction you are going. . .change your watch to the time in the time zone you are going to. . .IE, if you're going from New York to London... When you leave NY, change your watch to London time. Based on London time, is it the middle of the night? If so, take a tylenol PM and make yourself sleep on the flight. If its mid-day - stay awake on the plane.

Once you get where you are going, don't nap during the day, as tempted as you may be - suck it up, and go to bed at a normal time. The next day you should wake up at a normal time and be alright (don't sleep in), but I would avoid the napping / early bed time / sleeping in overly late on the second day as well, if possible.
Drink plenty of water when you are travelling. When you arrive sleep with your curtains open. This means that when you have to have a nap your body still knows it is supposed to be day time. Do this until your body has adjusted. It really works and since I've been doing this I seem to have adjusted quicker.
