I'm going on a long drive in icy, snowy, and cold conditions...What should i take with me for the car? |
Travel Info Im going on a very long trip-driving style. I want to make sure i don't forget anything. So what should i take to make sure my car is ok in the ice and cold conditions? I know what clothes to take, so i need to know what should i take for my car? Travel Tips Drinking water, non-perishable foods, blankets, battery operated radio with extra batteries, cell phone, car charger for cell phone and an extra charged battery, flashlights with extra batteries, rubber snow boots, small shovel, ice melting salt, road flares, map of the area you are traveling, emergency numbers to contact the people who may be expecting you. Good Luck and drive safely! ;) Others jumper cables, food, flashlight A shovel to dig your car out if need be, a flask with tea in it incase you get stuck or you need to take a break and some people put snow chains on their cars for better traction on snow and ice. I would bring some warm clothes - dress in layers - so you can peel off clothes or add it as you get cold or hot. Don't forget a first aid kit, cellphone and I would pack some snacks to bring along. The best thing to bring along is kitty litter. If you go off the road into the snowbanks its great to have some kitty litter to spread down to help give traction. I would also bring a shovel. I love those pocket warmers too - they heat up quickly and are great for quick warm ups. And of course a thermos of hot chocolate or coffee to keep you going! Blankets some can foods and a can opener , a flash light and a cell phone with a charger. beef jerkey some peanuts and some grape jully . That should hold you for at least a week to a month Be sure to take some (extra) anti-freeze in case you have a radiator hose problem as well as extra water for your car's radiator. And don't forget the duct tape! ( old MacGyver fan) but it can save you if you have hose leaks, etc.Take a blanket in case there's car trouble and you need to stay warm till help arrives. (Better yet) Take a friend along to help keep you warm, if needed... or just for the heck of it! have a good, safe trip.. and be careful! |
