Mosquitoes and black flies in ontario?

I am thinking about going to collinwood ontario this june or july and have heard that the insects can really ruin your vacation. Anyone have any experience good or bad in this area? and are the insects as bad as I've heard? Is this area beautiful? Any info would be appreciated.

Mosquitos and black flies can be a problem in North Ontario...around Collingwood everything should be okay.
