Going to Nigeria, what do I really need? |
Travel Info I have been invited to live in Nigeria with my European Boyfriend/ and understand it is not all that great. What do I need to bring, and what suggestions can you offer? Travel Tips Lol. what part of nigeria does your boyfriend live? for the reason that he is european i believe he lives in a more prosperous part of nigeria (like abuja or victoria island in lagos). life is actually real nice in places like that if you have the money. i live in america and i go to nigeria twice a year and i always have an amazing time when i go there. you should give it a try. Goodluck Others What you really need prior to your departure ..... is your head examined. Carry a big stick This is not a good forum for that kind of question, as you would need a lot of information and "stuff" to live in another country, including a residence visa so that you could stay in Nigeria legally. Some research would really help you to understand the monumental change you're considering.... "I understand it is not all that great" is quite an understatement, no offense. Start with www.state.gov, which has information on evey country on the planet, then try www.wikipedia.com. Then, get yourself a good 2007 travel guide, such as Lonely Planet, Frommer's, Dorling Kindersley, or Rough Guide. then, go to your local library and check out some books, Try one about the history and culture of Nigeria. If you put some effort into learning about the country, you will be able to make a much more mature and informed decision. Mace, gun, loads of money, bulletproof car. Is your boyfriend whacked in the head? Rape is like not even a big deal over there. Think really hard about this one. I lived there 3 1/2 years, had malaria 2x, was armed robbed (I mean AK-47's) three times, and a lot of other little things. Not a place for european women. |
