Does the water in a water fountain go down the drain and re-circulate through? |
Travel Info I have always wondered if while i'm drinking from a water fountain after someone else, if the same water that they were drinking is the same water that i was currently drinking, because the water has gone down the drain and been "filtered" and is coming back through the fountain. Travel Tips no, it works the same as any water system in your home. there is an IN line and an OUT line. the IN is standard tap water which has been filtered and decontaminated by the water company, and it is the same water that flows into your showers, toilet, sinks, etc. the out, works as any other drain. removing the waste water, and directing it to the main drain, then the sewer system (or septic system) and finally to the waste treatment plants that recyle water. the fountains themselves usually have filtration systems similar to Brita systems, to further remove rust and chlorine from the tap water. so no, you dont have to worry about drinking someone elses waste water when using a public fountain. that would be highly unsanitary, and most likely a huge health issue. Others No. It goes out into a drain just like any other fixture. tc NA, IT DRAINS RIGHT OUT of course it does. i piiss in the one a work sometimes! jokes It's a one way system .... out the fountain, down the drain, into the sewer Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww thats disgusting....I'm think ing again be4 I drink from the fountain again! Ewwww...I hope not. It doesn't do that in your sink at home, does it? |
