Would it be safe to travel abroad by yourself? |
Travel Info I am 19years old and have a friend who goes to college in France, I want to visit her but I am really nervous on traveling by myself. I wont be able to use my father's airplane because he is flying to California for business, so I have to fly commercial. what are some tips for a 19 year old girl traveling by herself overseas? Travel Tips You should not be nervous going to France-believe me it will be fun. Can your friend meet you at the airport in France-if so then the whole issue is a no-brainer GO Tips for flying-take 3 bottles of water and do not drink alcohol or coffee during the entire trip-including at the airport-these beverages will dehidrate you and increase the effects of jet lag-also take a light blanket for use on the jet-also get some saline nose spray as the long flights dry out your nostrils. Should you friend NOT be able to meet you-get instructions from her regarding proper train number (Frances train system is fantastic) or cab info to get you to her-it would be best if your friend can meet you at the airport. Don't Frag out on this-it will go very smoothly if you do your planning before hand. If your friend can do it so can you. It will be an adventure of your life time-do not pass it up Others yes you are because i once your age was everywhere in the world your 19 your a adult Well you sound very well off if your 'daddy' has his own private jet. Most people would be confortable to travel on their own by your age, but you have probably been pampered most of your life... My advice to you would be to just do it. All you need is to go out there by yourself to get more confidence. always be aware of your enviroment.just always be cautious.have a good grip on your purse.never leave anything valuable in your room.when i went to paris last december i was out alone alot and nobody ever bothered me.you will be fine.just have a good time with your friend.get a bulkhead seat on any flight you can.i did that and slept on the floor in front of me.on a long flight it really helps to get bulkhead you can stretch your feet out and plus your closer to the flight attendants when you need something and closer to the bathroom. You can travel by yourself. There is no point to ask. You are 19 years old and you are in a position to differentiate between right and wrong. Enjoy life. Good Luck . I'm sorry to have to say this but you do not sound very real to me. Everyone I know whose family owns a private plane or has access to one has flown commercial before (albeit usually in first or business class) and many times alone, certainly by age 19. Most private planes aren't equipped for transoceanic flights and most owners, for insurance and other reasons, do not fly their own planes on those routes so the mentioning of your father's plane sounds more like a brag than a reason. Top executives who have access to corporate jets that can fly that distance usually use them for business and, again for insurance and corporate regulations, rarely if ever take their families along. |
