Whats the best remedy for car-sickness? |
Travel Info I always get car-sick, and it's extremely frustrating, It seems I've tried everything. What do you recommend? Travel Tips In the old days, most people would have said dramamine, but now that's pass'e. If you're willing to take Western (not natural) medicine, the best stuff is an over the counter med called meclizine. It's used to treat vertigo (dizziness) and motion sickness, too. It works pretty well, only don't take more than the recommended dose, 12.5 milligrams, or it can backfire on you. Take it about an hour before travel, and you can take one every four to six hours after that, no more than four times a day. If it doesn't work by itself, take it with 25 (not 50!) milligrams of plain old Benadryl. Source(s): My Doctor perscribed this regimen for me and it works. Other Travel Tips walk instead... Walking. Or ride a bike. If you've tried everything, then there's nothing left. Try driving with the window down, ginger-either fresh or the capsules from a health store. Does it help if you drive instead of being a passenger? meclizine i believe it is also called marazine. Don't use Dramamine it is the worse thing on the market and it gives you a horrible hangover.the meclizine works great and you don't feel groggy or sick from it.You can get it over the counter at the pharmacy but you have to ask the pharmacist for it.(they keep it behind the counter) Dryamamine and sleeping pills help me! I take both of them I fall asleep and when I wake up we are stopped or almost there! |
