Why do ears hurt on a plane ride? |
Travel Info Everytime I go on a plane ride for a trip. On the air my head starts to hurt like so much and feel like pressure on my head and my ears pop and then I go deaf for about an hour or two after the plane ride, why is that? Travel Tips The air pressure inside your ear doesn't immediately adapt to the outside air pressure. Try pinching your nose & gently blow it w/your mouth closed. You could also get some EarPlanes in the ear plug section at the drug store or http://www.magellans.com/store/in_flight... . You only wear them on take off & descent. Others when you're going higher into the air or lowering back down to ground, the amount of pressure changes, so it causes your ears to pop. it only lasts for a few minutes though, so its not that bad. if you're "going deaf", you should see the doctor? There is air behind your eardrums. When the outside air pressure changes enough, there is a "valve" that has to open to equalize the pressure. When you feel that pressure, you should force yourself to yawn, chew gum, swallow, or something to open the valve yourself and relieve the pressure. Your requested info... http://lala.essortment.com/earandflying_... The pressure on the outside of your head is greater than the pressure inside. It tries to equalize, therefore making your head hurt.
