Travel Info I work in a Hospitality & Tourism school in Cambodia. I have misgivings about the hygiene practiced in our kitchen. The Cambodian staff must be presented information in a mannet which does not offend them and manages to preserve their "face." I would like to prepare some documents detailing proper kitchen and restroom hygiene WHILE also illustrating that tour groups (our customers) themselves can be a source of contagion. I am hopeful someone in the international travel & tourism industry can share some insight about the unique health and hygiene concerns of businesses that provide services to tour groups.
Travel Tips
I think it's the basics that we have here in the US. Our basics are hairnets, washing the hands after using the bathroom and basically everything else such as handling food. When handling various food products, handle one at a time and wash your hands after each. Make sure hands are washed after touching unprepared raw meat. If somebody is sick, don't allow them to work because they could get others sick. If they are sneezed on by others, some sort of aerosol should be kept around such as Lysol Antibacterial. Everything should be clean, wiped down, and decontaminated. Contamination is actually very very easy. So it's best to be cleaning when customers are not needing assistance.
