How should children be transported on aircraft?

Travel Info
If I wanted to carry my dog, it would have to travel in a crate in the hold. Shouln't the sceaming brats that parents chose not to control be carried in a similar way?

Travel Tips
A seperate area of the plane should be available for familys with children. Why should we have to endure 9 to 10 hrs of children screaming. 1 starts then that sets the others going and most of the time they cry for no reason. I pay a lot of money for my holidays and the flight is part of it. Please parents think about other passengers you may be used to it but we are not.

Others
I agree NOT.
PUT THEM in First class and let them run riot.
Strap them to the wings.
I'd donate a lot of money to any company that developed a safe sleeping pill for kids.
It happens on trains too but why punish children because they have poor parents? The poor kids have enough problems.
I had 3, the worst that's happened is that my middle one would strike up conversations with strangers about social issues. Even my youngest who's autistic was able to learn appropriate behaviour.

Before anyone tells me I've misspelled behaviour, this is the British site so I'm using the British spelling.
As children are only a problem when tired hungry or bored this is easily solved. Of course when the security service decide to remove all toys and bottles of milk from children as part of an anti terrorist action, then it is hardly the parents fault. the best solution is to fly at a time when the children would normally be going to sleep. Of course a creche would be great, but not enough room to fit one and when in turbulance all need to be strapped in. Try flying in Business if they disturb you there are fewer children in there.
not just in the cargo hold if there is any nasty big machinery being transported by plane that day the little brats ought to be given the keys to see if they can kill themselves with it t the same time
