Has anyone got vaccinated for travel?

I am going to ghana, in West Africa, and I have loads of recommended and required shot to get. Wanted to know if anyone has had them, did they help, any side affect. Any information I should know
vaccinations I was told to get: yellow fever, Hep A, tentanous, typhoid fever, menangitis, malaria and polio

I got the Hep A for my trip to colombia...which now I'm set for life and it's good just to have.

For Malaria I had medication that the doctor gave me to start before I went and through the time that i was there (oh and they also gave me some medication incease i got the runs...i didn't but it is very possible...i'd ask about that)

the yellow fever shot i did not get as i was only there for a week and about 1/3 people get fairly sick from it and some have died...my mom didn't want me to take it cause she knew that i would be in the city as appossed to being in the jungel

One of my coworkers however on a different trip there got a very rare dessies from a misquitoe so andy caution is good

And you should've already had you Tentanous shot and polio from when you were younger, just make sure they are up to date, and the menangitis you could've gotten in College so check your record before going over board!

that is the norn for traveling.. anytime you go to another country no mater where you have to get shots. it's not that you will get some kind of infection or disease it's just to prevent i say go ahead and have fun in ghana..
