Do motion sickness pills really help?

I am going to Disney Land in June. My friend is making me go on rollercoasters with her, the only problem is I have no idea if I will get sick on the rides or not. I'm paranoid to death of that happening, and I don't know why because I've never had an issue before. I have never in my life been on a coaster, because of this paranoia. She said she'd get me some pills for it (I forget the name, it began with a D) and I would be fine. Do these pills really work, and is there a way to tell if you would get sick on one of these rides? I'm just fine on rides like the tilt-a-whirl, scrambler, ferris wheel, etc..

They work. As long as you follow the directions and take it a little time ahead to give them time to work. I too was going to say they make you sleepy, but for Disneyland and walking around outdoors and roller coasters it wont matter. Different from ferry ride, car ride or plane ride where you usually curl up in your seat and fall asleep.

If you are ok on the rides you listed, I wouldn't take motionsickness pills because they might make you sleepy.
