When getting travel shots, is it common that they are given in the butt? |
Travel Info What happened in your own experiences? Did u lie on the exam table or stand? Did they hurt? Travel Tips ive had tonnes of shots, depends on what it is to where it goes. ill summerise a few tetenus - butt yellow fever - arm rabies - arm typhoid - arm hep a and b - arm antibiotics - arm polio - oral most are just a small prick (antibiotics hurt the most actually) yellow fever made arm a bit numb dont stress to much most jabs are not that painful Source(s): personal experience Other Travel Tips ok, i've had shots for yellow fever rabies japanese encephalitis typhoid tetanus meningitis hep a hep b tb polio polio is given orally - used to be the sugar lump - now straight on tongue, ALL the others were in my arm - usuall left arm, or both arms if getting more than one sat in chair - needle in arm. no probs typhoid hurt and so does tb (bcg) because tb is sub-cutaneous they arent that bad - no need to worry Shots are usually given in the thickest parts of tissue like hips, arms, or butt. Yes they can hurt depending on the thickness of needle and strength of medicine . you could be sore for a few days. Some shots may even produce symptoms. Just follow your doctor's advice. It hurts for a brief few seconds those shots are meant to save your life and prevent illness a few seconds of pain is worth it |
