How exactly do jinxes work? |
Travel Info Okay, I have never been on a plane before. Not because I am opposed to it, just never had the opportunity. Next week I may have to get on one for a business trip. If I say out loud "Knowing my luck, the plane will crash." - that would be jinxing myself, right? Does that apply if I only think it? What about write it? Or is it the saying out loud part that does the actual jinxing? I'm not superstitious, so I am curious as to the mechanics of the whole thing. Travel Tips Well you already thought it AND wrote it and you probably say out loud what you're typing. So anyway my point is that you're already screwed. Others I think saying it out loud is actually a way to alleviate the jinx. It's when we think it without saying it,that our fears get control.Somehow just saying something seems to make it less......(at least that's what I think) You're only jinxed if someone says "JINX! CANDY BAR JINX! YOU OWE ME A CANDY BAR!!!". Oh wait that's just if you say something the same time someone else says it then whoever says "JINX" jinxes the other person and they own them a candy bar. Phew... I think that in your case it's like knocking on wood... is that being jinxed? Umm... basically I don't know. But there is a 1 in 8 million chance that you will die on that plane. I think you're DOOMED! |
