Travel Info In the uk,is it safe to drink tap water?,i see people buying bottled water? Travel Tips All tap water is safe. The reason you see people with bottles is twofold. Firstly convenience, there are few other places to get water outside of work and home. Secondly fear of diseases that could be contracted from communal sources. This has lead to most authories removing outside water sources, since the eighties. Others yes very safe they have bottled water in loads of countries.. i think it tastes horrible.. tap water is better I think the tap water itself is OK, but some of the pipes are very old and contaminate the water. The water is smelly. I also buy bottled water for cooking and drinking. yes it is completely safe, people usually buy bottled water because they prefer the taste. no Yes it's safe, sometimes tastes a bit crap but otherwise it's safe |
