Why don't planes come with a large parachute, that would detach wth the press of a button in case of emergency

Maybe for the same reason that airlines do not require the planes to use jet fuel that is non flammable. It's expensive and it would cause the ticket prices to go way up and no one would be able to afford to fly.

BTW... people would have a better chance of surviving a crash if the plane didn't explode. The non flammable fuel would help there.

Well if you were to need/want a parachute that far up it would do you no good. If your body came out of that plane that far into the sky you would be SOL way before you thought about pushing a button to launch a parachute.lol
