Travelling in 8th month of pregnancy.safety?

Travel Info
i need to fly to the US from India at the start of my 8th month.its going to be 18 hrs journey plus a halt of few more hrs...would like to know if that does any harm to me or my baby?i know women who even travelled in 9th month .....but i would like to know whats safer for me.....

Travel Tips
Most airlines will not let you travel after the 7th month. Source(s): I flew until my 5th month.
Other Travel Tips
Ask your doctor.
I always heard you shouldn't fly in the third trimester. I would ask a doctor.
The BIG question is: do you want to risk having the baby in the air? and all that entails? (that's the risk, besides the take-off landing, which we all overlook) ...The baby is already in his own little transportational cabin. That bubble is temperature/pressure regulated, and he/she's breathing from fluids -- incredible, when you really think about it. It doesn't matter how you travel, as long as YOU are safe and not anxious and don't "catch" anything, like what happens from airborne viruses on airplanes, touching handles, etc. without washing & then touching your eyes/nose. That's your worry, is all. If you HAVE to travel it shouldn't be a problem.. if you can handle the 18+ hours of flight-time, waiting at the airports/on runways, getting to/from in a car, and packing/carrying luggage, etc. etc. If it was ME, I'd stay home or have my wife stay home... but, physically I believe it's only a matter of what you can stand, wear a mask to be on the safe-side, clean your hands with towelettes, and have others lift your bag (if you MUST carry-on luggage!).
Definately check with your doctor. I would be concerned about flying such a long way, especially if you are a high risk pregnancy.
virtually all the airlines do not allow you to travel during this period of pregnancy. also you must seek doctors advise as it is very long journey which may b difficult as well. all the best!
