Is pregnant woman safe to travel by plane or from one country to another? |
Travel Info Is pregnant woman safe to travel by plane or from one country to another? Travel Tips It is perfectly safe to fly in your first and second trimesters, as long as your doctor checks you out first and says you are fine. I flew a long haul flight from the US to Africa when I was 3 months pregnant with my son and now my son is a healthy and happy 5 year old. I also plan to fly internationally this summer (will leave when I'm 3 months, come back when I'm 6.5 months). Airline regulations state: Obstetrical patients are free to fly, but pose a significant risk in later stages of precipitating delivery during flight. Pregnancy past 32 weeks should be carefully considered for restriction from flight and must be accompanied with an authorization note from a doctor. Those past 36 weeks should be prohibited from flying unless personally accompanied by their doctor. (Taken from my husbands flight security and survival manual & FAA site) http://www.faa.gov/other_visit/aviation_... Please note that while FAA regulations do not prohibit flying while pregnant, and even if you bring a doctors note, the final decision is entirely up to the Captain (who will be informed by the gate crew of your status). While traveling I advise you to keep your medical records, and the name and number of your doctor in case an emergency should arise. I hope you have a safe (and uneventful) trip. If I can be of any more help or assistance, please feel free to contact me. Other Travel Tips yea if shes like healthy and isn't due for like 4 months and doesn't have tripps lol... consult her OB before any travelling. Lady, it all depends on the month you are in now. Some airlines will not let you on the plane when you are close to give birth. Always check with your doctor!!! We are talking about the health of you and your baby, so don't take yahoo answers as the ultimate solution to answer the question. Travel a lot it depends on how pregnant you are |
