Travel Tips I was speaking to a Palestinian guy once and he was telling me that in the middle east, it is ostensibly safe for europeans and english but no so much for americans. He was telling me that in places like Palestine and Jordan they will kill americans as if they are pieces of meat. But I think if you stay in the Christian areas of Beirut (the city is divided into Christian areas and Muslim areas) I think you should be fine. Christians are generally more civilised than Muslims and they don't jump for an opportunity to kill people. Others I don't think it is safe for any Westerner. Oh dear oh dear oh dear Sounds like you have problems, me old lad. Why don't you consider somewhere a lot safer? Like - the crocodile swamps in Florida? only if you are black get a good tan quick Thats where beer pong was invented I think. Just let them know that and you'll be ok. at the moment beirut is not stable but safe for all westerners ..the people that live there feel that they are at a constant battle with israel because it freely flies lebanese airspace violating all international laws.. so both muslims and christian areas can be exposed to unpredictable attacks.. so if you are planning to travel now it does not make any difference if you are a westerner or not because people speak different languages over there and there is a lot of diversity and americans are treated better than the local people over there.. so you have to be carefull like any other lebanese when going there because believe me you are gonna be safer than any other local person.. those ignorant people who posted these messages don't know anything about lebanon they have no clue ... and muslims are no less than christians there are people from both relegions who can be terrorists.. islam is a religion from god and so is christianity.. unless those people who wrote those messages believe that only "westerner" have a God.. being a lebanese american |
