my mom takes a Zanax and drinks a bloody mary. she passes out, and wakes up in her destination. after a few rounds of this she is getting better too. Source(s): my mother

if you are consider travelling with her, then try to see if you can go there by sea or train?

If unfortunately, taking the aeroplane is the only way out, then try to help her overcome the fear...

There must be a reason for her fear...as everything happens for a reason...she is your wife, you have the responsibility to help her overcome difficulties in life. =)
I suppose logic does not work with her? is she afraid to ride in the car? Does she realize she has a far greater chance of being in an automobile accident than a plane crash? You could find a psychiatrist or psycologist who works with people with phobias...or you go alone a couple of times and see if that encourages her to put aside her fear of flying!
Either take a train or if is overseas then a boat. Unfortunately that is all the choices you have.
start with short distance flight but make sure you fly by an airline that has a lot of in house entertainment.this will absorb her so much that a time will come when she would yearn to have long distance flight.treat her like a child and build the confidence in her.all d best
