What should I do if i have to climb a 30ft. rock wall when I have an extreme fear of hights? |
Travel Info Anything helps! Travel Tips well you yell so loud that Spider-Man can hear you and then he comes to the rescue and then you guys make out , but when hes upside down on his web. Others You ABSOLUTELY have to? Don't look down. You can't image you're somewhere else because that won't do you any good when you need to pay attention. I'm afraid of heights too, but look at it this way - 30 feet isn't that high and you will have a harness attached to you too just in case you slipped or fell. I'd do this w/o any issues myself. Just do it. Do it and don't look back. I hate high places myself. While in basic training, I had to repel down a 40ft wall. I hated every moment leading up to it...until both feet were over the side. At that point, I knew I was beyond the point of no return and I relaxed. You just need to dig into yourself and find your point of no return. It may sound strange but if you are afraid of heights then rock climbing will help you overcome it. It worked for me. The main thing is to have complete confidence in your safety equipment and climbing partners. For a 10 metre wall I am sure you will be given ropes or crash mats. If not then you are in your rights to refuse. Is your climbing partner competent ? As you climb, feel free to look down. It will lessen the shock when you look down by accident. When you get to the top you will feel a great sense of achievement and it wont be long until you want to clibm higher. |
