Will drinking the water in Spain make me sick if I'm from the U.S.? |
Travel Info Will drinking the water in Spain make me sick if I'm from the U.S.? Travel Tips It is not very commonly known, that if you travel anywhere in the world, you may get Traveler's Diarrhea. It's called Montezuma's Revenge for Mexico, but it doesn't matter where you go. Basically, the bacteria there is different than the bacteria where you live. Your immune system knows how to beat the local bacteria, but traveling anywhere else, they will be all knew to you. Especially if you haven't been there before, are younger, or don't travel much. Tap Water is only once source and should be avoided like all the sources. Source(s): http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dbmd/diseasein... Other Travel Tips I would not chance it. drink bottled water. i lived in spain for a year...the water is perfectly safe to drink... Yes, it'll do a reverse osmosis effect and you'll be stung dehydration....No ...to be serious I don't know. I've never been. You might. Sometimes people get diarrhea traveling to another country and tasting new water. Mostly because their cleaning system isn't as efficient, and there are some minerals that your stomach isn't used to. Why would it make you sick? It would be the same question asked on reverse. I am from Spain and wondering if the water in the U.S will make me sick? No, it will not. I lived in Spain for 6 months and never got sick. Do not forget to try their Jamon Iberico!!! Enjoy |
