What can i do to prevent sea sickness while out at sea? |
Travel Info What can i do to prevent sea sickness while out at sea? Travel Tips there are some tablets called "sea-legs" they can be found in most high street pharmacies but you should ask advice before taking anything just in case if possible try to stay in the middle of the boat/ship that is the place where there is less movement and don't wrap yourself up to warm Others Any drugstore will sell you meds. agains sea sickness, just ask the druggist ,no prescriptions needed. My answer to sea sickness is to drink a fizzy lemonade the theory being that the motion of the ship traps wind in your body so if the lemonade makes you burp you are more comfortable hence no sickness tried it out in a force nine gale in the english channel and was not sick GOOD LUCK Ask for a cabin that is closest to sea level. Do not sleep on a bunk. Bonine, an otc medicine, has few side effects, if any where Dramamine makes you sleepy, this does not. Some people swear by the patches on the wrist of behind the ear. I didn't try this. The infirmary on the ship can provide some otc medicines, but travel with your own. When we cruised, I found that I didn't feel really sick until after it was over. It took 2 weeks to go away. Also, while on ship, avoid looking out cabin windows while the ship is moving. Interior cabins are the way to go. take homeopathic medicine called 'petroleum 200' pills, take 7 to 8 pills twice a day , start taking these one day before travel and continue on your trip, no side effects. no coffee, no raw onion |
