Do dogs need a passport to travel to other countries? |
Travel Info From the USA to anywhere else? From anywhere else to the USA? Travel Tips To drive into Canada, I had to take a certificate of health and shot records for my poodle and at the border, they checked to see if the # on the rabies tag matched the # on the shot record. The vet made one up for me and we breezed right across the border, no prob. Don't know about going anywhere else, though. Others Probably only in america! Yes, they do. But, apply soon because there is quite the back up. Be sure to take your dog to get his picture taken. They will need a frontal shot and a side shot of his head. u are the weakest link....goodbye! No they do not they need to have papers though that shows they have all their shots and/or vaccinations taken care of. They do not need a passport but they will need current vaccination documents and you had better check with each country you plan on visiting for specifics. Also, check with the US government for return requirements based on where you travelled. Some countries may ban specific breeds or have requirements regarding mussels and neutering. I'm thinking specifically of Ontario, Canada and Pit Bulls. They don't need a passport like a human would, but the country you're going to will have rules about bringing a pet with you. Sometimes the pet might need to be quarantined for a few days. You will need to provide proof he's had his rabies shots, etc. Check with the country you want to go to, the rules are different from place to place. |
