What's are your opinions on road side memorials? |
Travel Info I am talking about memorials where people have had tragic accidents, should they be allowed to near roadsides when there are cemetaries for that purpose? just want to hear some answers Travel Tips I think that such memorials serve two important purposes: [1] they help the families remember and grieve their lost loved ones and [2] the remind us how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken from us. I almost always slow down to a safer speed when I see one of those roadside memorials becasue I am reminded that the road can be a very dangerouse place. Others Go to here the body is buried, not where the pain was caused. I think its stupid the person /a or spirit who was killed in that location .. arent there they are either buried or cremated I think they are a distraction. Why would anyone really want to keep going to where the tragedy occurred instead of remembering happier times. it is at those exact points ware tragidy struck. Those exact places are a reminder to others to think differently about what they do. Those exact places hold more memories, than A grave sight. I think it should be limited to five years from the date of the accident, because i have seen some rather dilapidated ones, but it serves a purpose, it says, hey, don't drive like an idiot, or this could be you. |
